What if I (or my partner) have two left feet, no rhythm, and zero dance experience?"

That's exactly why we're here! We're not expecting Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers to show up, in fact, quite the opposite. Our programs are scaled and personalized to fit YOU. And our job is to help you have a great experience from your first lesson all the way to your Wedding Day!

Question 2

What do I wear to lessons?

Accepted Answer

Whatever you're comfortable in! Student attire ranges from business casual to athletic wear to jeans to dressy casual. We ask that you AVOID flip flops and shoes with rubber soles (they tend to stick to the floor and cause undue strain on the knees).  Eventually we recommend that when possible you'll bring the shoes you're planning to wear on your wedding day to get used to them. If you'd like to invest in a pair of suede-soled shoes specifically for dancing, we can fit you for those in the studio.

Question 3

How long before our wedding should we start taking lessons?

Accepted Answer

We recommend coming in for your lessons as early as possible; 4-5 months beforehand is ideal. This is an estimate of course, and varies from couple to couple. What we want to help you avoid is feeling rushed or stressed during the process.  Start early enough that the experience can be fun and stress-free!

Question 4

Can we start taking lessons even if we haven't picked a song yet?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. In your first introductory lesson you’ll learn basic steps and partnership which you'll be able to apply to whatever dance you and your instructor end up selecting for your First Dance. If you have a few top song picks, bring them in with you. Your instructor can provide feedback and show you the dances you could do to each song to help with your decision.

What if we don’t want anything too difficult, fancy, or choreographed?"

No problem. Our trained dance professionals are experienced in teaching wedding dances that range from full out fancy choreography to something very simple and easy to learn. Either way we’ll teach you how to move on the dance floor with confidence and poise. Simple or elaborate, it will be uniquely YOURS!

Is it too late to start lessons??

Accepted Answer

Nope. (Not unless your wedding is like...tomorrow). Even if it's last-minute, we can get you and your fiance feeling comfortable with dancing with one another. You won’t be doing any Dirty Dancing lifts, but you’ll be way better off than not starting at all!

Which program should we purchase?  How many lessons are right for us?

Accepted Answer

There is no one right answer, which is why we offer different options. The Classic is always a good bet (and The Deluxe is a safe one), but you can feel free to shoot us an email at cincinnatiweddingdance@gmail.com and tell us a little about you, your goals for your wedding dance, the song, etc., and we can advise you on what we think would fit your needs the best.

Some of our wedding guests want to learn to dance for the reception. Can you teach them as well?

Are purchases refundable?

Accepted Answer

No, dance lesson purchases are not refundable. If you have extenuating circumstances, please reach out to us so we can discuss a solution.

Question 11

What is your lesson cancelation/rescheduling policy?

Accepted Answer

Please give us 24 hrs notice if you need to reschedule your lesson. If cancelation occurs less than 24 hrs before your scheduled lesson, we reserve the right to charge you for that lesson (our time). If the cancelation is within the 24 hr window and due to Covid-19 exposure or infection, you will not be charged for the canceled lesson.
